GiacomoS. SlewenheimerKudos to trainer John Shirreffs for having this grey colt ready when it counted. But Giacamo is the athlete here and closed with a great flurry to win at better than 50-1.

UWriteSports salutes you Giacomo!
Paul PierceBarry Roos30 Points, 8 assists, 7 rebounds, and 5 blocks.

For all those who thought this guy can't step up and lead, last night proved that Pierce is capable of greatness.

That was a Bird-like effort by the C's Captain, worthy of the UWS athlete of the Week.
Manny RamirezBarry Roos2 homers on Saturday, the guy is number 3 all time for Grand Slams.

Why? because nothing gets to him. When others get up with the bases loaded they feel pressure. Not Manny. He is one of the best pure hitters ever and un affected by slumps, the media or jeers.

Put him on waivers? No problem, he just became the Series MVP.

Here's to letting Manny be Manny.
Tiger WoodsBenny HoganTiger's shot on 16 was one of the most amazing things I have ever seen. He is the best ever, there is no doubt. The Masters win yesterday was one of his best. He proved he can overcome obstacles and hit shots no one else can.

I just wonder one thing, could he have gotten that wife if he was not a famous golfer?
Roy WilliamsN. SeayayeahThe monkee is off Roy's back. He finally won the big one after choking so many times at Kansas. He now can be called a great coach.

In Kansas however he is in the choking hall of fame along with Toto who choked on a piece of rawhide.
Kevin PittsnogleBarry RoosWe at UWriteSports.com do not only pick the game winners to be our athlete of the week.

This week we select Kevin Pittsnogle of West Virginia. He had six 3-pointers and 25 points.

A tremendous performance, and a gutsy team.
Vermont CatamountsBarry RoosThis is what makes this tournament so special.

Truly spectacular win. These kids would not allow themselves to lose. That 3 pointer was a special moment in NCAA history.

This was to be the last game for the coach... NOT.
Troy BrownR. CharlesEven I can see how valuable this guy was to the Pats.
And I am blind and dead!

Talk about the good soldier. He did it all and carried himself with class and dignity.

I know it's a business, but do we have to let everyone go?

Good Luck Mr. Brown!
Ty LawBarry D. RoosForget the comments on the way out the door which we will more than likely hear. The guy was great for the Pats and one of their best players ever. Good luck Ty.
Tedy BruschiBarry RoosHere's hoping Tedy can make it back. This guy is the poster child for all that is good in sports. Underdog to make it, turned pro-bowler and with a true understanding of what's important.

Few have come back from a stoke, but if anyone can, Tedy can.
